Abdurrahman Dereli — Biography
Abdurrahman Dereli (born 15 February 1981 in Trabzon) is a right back who began his career in the youth system of Akçaabat Sebatspor and turned professional there in 1998. He helped Sebatspor win promotion to the Süper Lig in 2002-03 and spent two seasons in the top flight before the club's relegation, after which he moved to Ankaragücü in 2005-06 for a further two seasons. He joined Sivasspor in the summer of 2007, helping the club finish fourth in his first season to qualify for the UEFA Intertoto Cup, and contributed to a runner-up finish in 2008-09 that led to European qualifying rounds in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League.
At the request of coach Metin Diyadin he signed with newly promoted Orduspor ahead of the 2011-12 season, then moved to Kasımpaşa in 2012 before returning to Sivasspor a year later, where he made just four appearances over two seasons. He ended his playing career at Balıkesirspor after its relegation to the First League in 2015-16, and won one cap for Turkey's under-19 national team. After retiring he moved into club administration, being appointed Sivasspor's sporting director in October 2024, a post he left in June 2025 amid criticism of the club's performance.
