Ahmet Kılıç — Biography

Born on 20 March 1984 in the town of Ede in the Netherlands, Ahmet Kılıç is a footballer who holds both Dutch and Turkish citizenship. He came through the youth ranks at Edesche Boys, DTS '35 and Vitesse before making his professional debut for AGOVV on 7 November 2003, coming on for Koen Garritsen in the 86th minute of a match Fortuna Sittard won 4-1. In 2007 he moved to Turkey to join Yeni Kırşehirspor, but after the club failed to pay his salary he returned to the Netherlands in early 2008 and pursued free-agent status and financial compensation through the courts.

Back in the Netherlands, Kılıç continued his career at amateur level, playing for De Treffers before joining Bennekom in 2013. From the 2014-15 season he also took on a coaching role at FC Jeugd '90, though his playing career at Bennekom ended in 2015 after an 18-month suspension imposed in September 2014 for taking part in a brawl during a match against SV Huizen. In 2017 he had to give up his coaching duties at Jeugd '90 because he lacked the required coaching qualifications; he played for WAVV in 2018 before returning to Jeugd '90 in 2019.
