Anıl Karaer — Biography
Anıl Karaer was born on 4 July 1988 in Istanbul. He is the son of the former Galatasaray player Sefer Karaer, who played there between 1981 and 1986. A left-footed player standing 1.85 m, he played as a centre-back and left-back. After winning three consecutive titles in Galatasaray's youth ranks he was promoted to the first team. He was capped 10 times by Turkey's youth sides, once at under-17 and nine times at under-19.
When Galatasaray signed Hakan Balta, he was loaned to Vestel Manisaspor for 2007-2008, struggled to settle, returned after half a season and spent the second half on loan at Çaykur Rizespor. In 2008-2009 he was loaned to MKE Ankaragücü, had his contract terminated after a few weeks, and played the rest of the season for Galatasaray's feeder side Beylerbeyi. On 24 June 2009 he signed a two-year contract with Adanaspor and was named in the First League team of the season in his first year.
He later agreed terms with Kardemir Karabükspor (January 2012, 2.5 years), Kayseri Erciyesspor (June 2014, three years), Eskişehirspor (August 2015, three years) and Kayserispor (2016). His contract at Bursaspor was terminated in August 2020, and in the same month he transferred to Adana Demirspor.
