Aslı Canan Sabırlı — Biography

Aslı Canan Sabırlı was born on 13 September 1991 in the Seyhan district of Adana. She studied at Aksaray University, where she also played futsal. A defender on the pitch, she later moved into coaching.

She began her club career at her hometown side Adana İdmanyurduspor, helping it rise from the Women's Second League to the top flight in 2008-09. In 2011-12 she moved to Konak Belediyespor in İzmir, who won the Women's First League in 2012-13. She then played for Kayseri Gençlik Birliği, Yahya Mazlum Halk Eğitim Merkezi Spor in Osmaniye and Osmaniye Demirspor, standing out in 2014-15 with 42 goals in 15 third-league games. In the second half of 2016-17 she joined ALG Spor of Gaziantep, captained the team, and won the Second League in 2017-18 followed by promotion to the top flight. ALG Spor finished runners-up in 2018-19.

She also wore the national youth colours: she began with the U-19s in a friendly against North Macedonia in 2006, scored against Moldova for the U-17s in the 2008 European Championship qualifying stage, and won 24 caps at U-19 level and seven at U-17. From 2018-19 she led the ALG Spor women's side as technical director, and her contract was renewed in 2020. By the end of 2021 she was working as a trainer with the Gaziantepgücü Spor youth team, and in April 2022 she was appointed technical director of the Adana İdman Yurdu women's team.
