Atalay Demirci — Biography

Atalay Demirci (born 8 July 1976) is a Turkish stand-up comedian, poet, writer and television and radio presenter. Wikidata gives his birthplace as Ankara, while Turkish Wikipedia specifies Nallıhan, a district of Ankara province. He won national fame by taking the 2013 title on Yetenek Sizsiniz Türkiye, the Turkish version of Got Talent.

According to Anadolu Agency, Hürriyet, NTV, CNN Türk, Cumhuriyet and Evrensel among other outlets, a five-year prison sentence against him was finalised in a case concerning membership of the FETÖ organisation; having been at large, he was detained in the Kartal district of Istanbul on 13 May 2026 and sent to prison. A report dated 22 July 2026 states that a release order was subsequently issued in his favour.
