Atilla Özmen — Biography

Atilla Özmen is a Turkish former footballer, born on 11 May 1988 in the Ayvalık district of Balıkesir province, who played as a goalkeeper. He started playing football at the age of ten in the youth ranks of Istanbul's Küçükköy Belediyespor, moved to İnegölspor's youth setup in 2003, and then to İzmir club Altay, where he turned professional. He signed his first professional contract on 19 July 2006, and in 2007 was loaned to Beşiktaş for experience; without breaking into the first team, he made only a handful of appearances for the club's reserve side before returning to Altay. After a brief spell at Konyaspor, he moved to Bucaspor in 2009 and spent two seasons there.

He joined Samsunspor on a free transfer at the start of the 2011-12 season, making his debut for the club in the Turkish Cup against Orduspor, and left in the summer of 2014 to sign with Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor. In later years he played for Gaziantep Belediyespor and Balıkesirspor, repeatedly renewing his contract with the latter and staying through the summer of 2022, before ending his career with TFF Second League club Isparta 32 SK. At international level he only represented Turkey's youth sides, appearing in friendlies against France at under-19 level and Sweden at under-21 level in 2007 and against Portugal at under-20 level in 2008, never earning a cap in an official tournament or for the senior national team.
