Aykut Özer — Biography
Aykut Özer was born on 1 January 1993 in Hanau, Germany; he began his career at TSV Hanau 1860, spent a brief spell in FSV Frankfurt's youth system, and joined Eintracht Frankfurt at the age of ten. He won the league title with the club's under-17 side in 2009-10, and after being promoted to the first team following an injury, made his only Bundesliga appearance on 18 May 2013, coming on in the second half against VfL Wolfsburg.
He moved to Süper Lig club Kardemir Karabükspor in 2014, joined Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands in 2017, and signed for Fatih Karagümrük in the summer of 2019, renewing his contract there in May 2021. He then joined Samsunspor on a three-year deal in July 2021 and won the TFF First League title with the club in 2022-23.
He moved to Amedspor in July 2023 and, after leaving a year later, to Sarıyer, with whom he finished the 2024-25 season as champion and the league's goalkeeper with the fewest goals conceded; he joined TFF First League side Ankara Keçiörengücü in August 2025. Though born in Germany, Özer chose to represent Turkey and played for the under-17 through under-21 national teams, serving as first-choice goalkeeper at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup, where he played all four of Turkey's matches as the team advanced from the group stage before losing to France in the second round.
