Bennu Yıldırımlar — Biography

Bennu Yıldırımlar was born on 22 November 1969 in Istanbul and trained in the Theatre Department of Istanbul University State Conservatory, also taking drama courses for a period at Westminster Adult Education in London.

She began her stage career in 1985 with the play Üç Kızkardeş (Three Sisters) and has spent decades since as a member of the İstanbul City Theatres company.

Her first notable television role was Elif in Süper Baba, but she became widely known for playing Fikret Tekin in Yaprak Dökümü.

She went on to play Nermin in Umutsuz Ev Kadınları, Servet in Gönül İşleri and Hatice in Kadın, and appeared in Nuri Bilge Ceylan's film Ahlat Ağacı (The Wild Pear Tree).

Across a career of more than four decades combining theatre, film and television, she continues to take on new roles, including in the series Kuruluş Orhan.
