Caner Cavlan

Caner Cavlan — Biography

Caner Cavlan (born 5 February 1992 in Doetinchem) is a footballer who plays at left-back. He was born in the Netherlands, most sources describe him as Dutch of Turkish descent, and he holds both Turkish and Dutch citizenship. He stands 1.75 m.

The early part of his career was spent in the Netherlands; his links to De Graafschap and Heerenveen are on record. He is noted to have played, besides the Netherlands, in Turkey and Austria. For his Turkish stops, sports press reported a move to Şanlıurfaspor in early 2017 and to Bandırmaspor in the summer of 2021, while some records give Iğdır FK and others Serikspor. These differing club entries are not a contradiction but snapshots frozen at different dates.

In July 2026 several independent outlets reported that he had agreed to join Aliağa FK. In a 2018 interview he said that if a national-team call-up came, his choice would be the Turkish shirt.
