Cemil Turan — Biography
Cemil Turan was born on 26 February 1947 in the Üsküdar district of Istanbul. Playing as a forward from 1966 to 1980, he turned out for Sarıyer and İstanbulspor before enjoying his most successful years at Fenerbahçe, where he won three league titles along with domestic cup and Super Cup honours.
Between 1970 and 1979 he earned 44 caps and scored 19 goals for Turkey's national team, ranking among the country's most prolific international goalscorers. After retiring, Turan moved into club administration, serving as director of Fenerbahçe's football academy, and in the spring of 2026 he joined the Turkish political party Zafer Partisi.
