Cenk Güvenç — Biography

Cenk Güvenç was born on 29 December 1991 in Seligenstadt, Germany, into a family of Turkish origin. A centre-back, he holds both Turkish and German citizenship.

He started playing very young and joined the Offenbach Kickers academy at the age of seven, where he faced the youth sides of clubs such as Bayern Munich, Hamburg and Schalke 04. Although he was also called up by Germany, he chose Turkey and played for its youth national teams. In 2009 he signed a three-year contract with Gaziantepspor and made his professional debut on 3 October 2009 against Trabzonspor. In 2012 he moved to the B team of Atlético Madrid, but played only one match in Spain.

On 3 August 2013 he signed a two-year contract with Çaykur Rizespor, then transferred to Karşıyaka on 17 January 2014 and scored his first goal for them against Kahramanmaraşspor in February 2014; he spent the following season there on loan as well. He joined Denizlispor in the summer of 2015, missed around six weeks with an injury in 2017, and agreed terms with Denizlispor again in 2020. Later in his career he also played for Afjet Afyonspor and Balıkesirspor.
