Darko Peric — Biography
Darko Perić was born on 25 March 1977 in Kladovo, in what was then the Yugoslav republic of Serbia. Drawn to performing since childhood, he was steered by his parents toward medicine and sent to veterinary school in Bucharest, where friends studying at the Romanian film academy reawakened his interest in cinema and theatre. In 1994 he moved to Timișoara, continuing veterinary studies while acting in local theatre, and graduated with distinction six years later; he was also involved in the local hard-rock and punk scene, playing in bands and organizing events. He then relocated to Berlin, kept acting in short films, and in 2004 moved to Barcelona, where he appeared in shorts, series and features. In 2015 he appeared in A Perfect Day opposite Benicio Del Toro and Tim Robbins, and in 2016 he was cast as "Oso," a Ukrainian gangster and the main villain, in Mar de Plástico. He gained international fame playing Helsinki in La Casa de Papel (Money Heist, 2017-2021), later acquired by Netflix, which became one of the most-watched shows worldwide and won Best Drama at the 2018 International Emmy Awards. He later appeared in the Turkish production Atatürk 1881-1919 and played Bojan in the 2024 film The Price of Nonna's Inheritance.
