Demet Özdemir — Biography

Demet Özdemir was born on February 26, 1992, in İzmit, Kocaeli. After her parents separated, she moved to Istanbul with her mother and sister, where dance lessons opened the door to the stage and she worked for a time as a dancer. Following appearances in commercials and a music video, she trained as an actress.

Her screen career began in 2013 as Aylin in the youth series Sana Bir Sır Vereceğim. She built her profile with the series Kurt Seyit ve Şura (2014), Çilek Kokusu (2015) and No: 309 (2016), and also appeared in the feature films Tut Sözünü (2015) and Sen Kiminle Dans Ediyorsun? (2017). Her international breakthrough came as Sanem in the romantic comedy Erkenci Kuş (2018-2019), which aired in numerous countries and helped fuel the worldwide boom of Turkish television dramas.

She went on to play Zeynep in Doğduğun Ev Kaderindir (2019), Aslı in the Netflix films Aşk Taktikleri (2022) and Aşk Taktikleri 2 (2023), and İlkin in the Disney+ miniseries Dünyayla Benim Aramda (2022). In 2023 she starred as Farah in Adım Farah, and from 2025 she took the role of Nisan Akyol in Eşref Rüya. Özdemir married singer Oğuzhan Koç in 2022.
