Deniz Akçay Katıksız — Biography
Deniz Akçay Katıksız (born 1978 in İzmir) is a Turkish screenwriter and film director. She began writing for television before moving into cinema, and has since worked as both a writer and a director.
Her debut feature, Köksüz (Nobody's Home, 2013), screened at the Venice Film Festival in the year of its release and brought her to wider attention. Centred on a grieving family with no way out of its own impasse, the film was named best film at the Nuremberg festival in 2014 and was given special screenings in İzmir, the director's home city. Critics received it as an unusually assured first feature.
Alongside her film work Katıksız continued writing for television, with credits on series including İstanbullu Gelin (Bride of Istanbul) and Bitmeyen Şarkı, as well as the 2017 feature Sonsuz Aşk.
