Deniz Vural — Biography

Deniz Vural was born in 1988 in Gießen, Germany, to a working-class Turkish family. His birthday is 11 July in most accounts, though a few give 11 June. A midfielder, he holds both Turkish and German citizenship.

He started out in the youth ranks of TSG Wieseck and then played in the academies of VfB Gießen and SC Waldgirmes. After a season with the lower-league side FSV Fernwald he moved to Eintracht Frankfurt II, making his first official appearance on 22 June 2011 against SC Freiburg II. Finding little room to progress in Germany, he said he was open to offers from Turkey and joined Eskişehirspor at the start of 2011-12. With few chances to play there he was loaned to Balıkesirspor of the 2. Lig, which took over his registration for free ahead of 2012-13; the team won the 2. Lig that season.

He later played for Alanyaspor, where he married in 2016. In 2018-19 he was part of Denizlispor's 1. Lig title, and in July 2019 he transferred to Altay. He then went back to Germany, playing for Fernwald in the Hessenliga and then FC Gießen.
