Devran Ayhan — Biography
Devran Ayhan (born 25 March 1978 in Batman) is a Turkish former footballer who played as a midfielder. He turned professional in the 1995–96 season and spent the longest spell of his career at Çaykur Rizespor, with whom he reached the Süper Lig in the 2000–01 season. In Turkey he also played for Gebzespor, Batman Petrolspor, Kayseri Erciyesspor, Ankaraspor and Ankaragücü.
He played for Gaziantepspor in 2003–05, appearing in the UEFA Cup and scoring his side's opening goal in a 3–0 home win over Lens. He moved to Sivasspor for the 2007–08 season, making 30 appearances, 24 of them as a starter, and became an essential midfield presence for coach Bülent Uygun; with Sivasspor he also played a UEFA Intertoto Cup leg against Portugal's SC Braga. Over his professional career in Turkey he made 382 appearances and scored 30 goals.
Citing a military-service issue and the offer he had received, Ayhan then signed a two-year deal to join Azerbaijan's Khazar Lankaran under coach Rasim Kara, making 45 Azerbaijan Premier League appearances for the club and featuring in both of its UEFA Europa League matches against Moldova's Olimpia. His contract was terminated by mutual consent in the summer of 2010, and he went on to play most recently for FK Qarabağ in Azerbaijan.
