Doğuş Balbay — Biography

Doğuş Balbay is a Turkish former basketball player born on 21 January 1989 in Kadıköy, Istanbul, who played as a point guard. He began his career in the Fenerbahçe youth system before moving to the United States in 2006, first attending Brewster Academy and later playing for the Texas Longhorns; he declared for the 2011 NBA draft but went unselected.

That same year Balbay signed with Anadolu Efes, serving as the club's captain from the 2014-15 through 2022-23 seasons and representing Turkey at EuroBasket 2013. He retired from playing in December 2023, and has since remained involved with Turkish basketball, contributing to youth development efforts under the national federation.
