Elyasa Süme — Biography

Abdullah Elyasa Süme (born 13 August 1983 in Wesel, Germany) is a Turkish retired footballer. He began his career with KFC Uerdingen 05 in Germany, turning professional in 2002, before moving to Turkey in 2004 to join Samsunspor.

He moved to Diyarbakırspor in the second half of the 2005–06 season, then signed for MKE Ankaragücü at the start of 2007, where he spent three seasons. When his contract expired on 31 May 2010 he became a free agent; his agent said a deal with Fenerbahçe was being arranged, but it did not go through, and Süme instead joined Gaziantepspor that season. His first official goal for the club came against Galatasaray in a Turkish Cup match, and he made 29 appearances with 4 goals in 2011–12. He signed for Kasımpaşa ahead of the 2012–13 season, then returned to Gaziantepspor at the start of 2014–15 and took on the team's captaincy.

Born in Germany to a Turkish expatriate family, Süme earned a single cap for Turkey's under-21 team, called up for a friendly against Denmark's under-21 side on 29 July 2004; he was called up twice more that year but remained on the bench. Standing 1.84 m tall, he moved into football administration after retiring as a player, most recently serving as sporting director of Gaziantepspor, the club for which he had also played.
