Emre Altuğ — Biography

Emre Altuğ is one of the few Turkish performers to have run a pop career and an acting career side by side. Known first as a singer, he has also been seen in series such as Tatlı Hayat, Elde Var Hayat, Sihirli Annem and Yalı Çapkını; his duet single Zalim Sultan with Doğukan Manço reached number one on the charts.

Trained in theatre at the conservatory, Altuğ began as a backing vocalist for artists including Sezen Aksu, Nilüfer, Sertab Erener and Levent Yüksel, while spending three seasons on stage with the Dormen Theatre. His debut album İbret-i Alem, released in the late 1990s, brought him to the fore in music, followed by Sıcak, Dudak Dudağa and Kişiye Özel. In the same years he took part in the musical Bir Kış Öyküsü, in films such as Kolay Para and Eve Giden Yol 1914, and in the series Lise Defteri and Sensiz Olmuyor. The song Sensiz Olmuyor became that series' theme, and he donated the single's proceeds to the Baba Beni Okula Gönder campaign.

After 2010 he continued with EPs and singles, adding the album Yıldırım Gürses Şarkıları in 2017. On screen, Otel Divane, Mezarcı and Ne Olacak Halim? stand out, and he has hosted a number of game shows, including Şans Kapıyı Çalınca.
