Emre Mor — Biography
Emre Mor was born on 24 July 1997 in the Brønshøj district of Copenhagen, Denmark, to a Turkish father from Uşak and a Turkish-Macedonian mother, Güzele Bekirov; he started playing football at age four at Brønshøj Boldklub, came up through Lyngby's youth ranks, and moved to FC Nordsjælland in January 2015.
He signed for Borussia Dortmund for €9.75 million on 7 June 2016 and for Celta Vigo in 2017, then went on loan to Galatasaray in 2019 and Olympiacos in 2020, returned to Celta Vigo, was loaned to Fatih Karagümrük in 2021, and joined Fenerbahçe on a permanent transfer in 2022. With 22 caps and 3 goals for Denmark's youth sides, Mor switched allegiance to Turkey in 2016; picked by Fatih Terim for UEFA Euro 2016, he came on for Cenk Tosun against Croatia to become Turkey's youngest player at a European Championship, set up Burak Yılmaz's goal against the Czech Republic, and was recalled to the national team in March 2025, nearly eight years later, for Nations League matches against Hungary. After leaving Fenerbahçe in July 2026, he signed a two-year deal with NEC Nijmegen following a trial, and helped the side, which also fielded Dusan Tadić, eliminate Olympiacos to reach the Champions League play-off round.
