Emre Tetikel — Biography

Emre Tetikel was born and raised in Tekirdağ on 2 August 1985; after finishing Namık Kemal High School he moved to Istanbul for university, earning a distance-learning degree in English business administration from Newport University. In 2008 he met theatre figures Selçuk Uluergüven and Aykut Oray, training under them before continuing his acting education at the Bahariye Art Center, the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Art, the NY Film Academy and Ekol Drama. That year he made his television debut as Morphy Mcmahon in the series Dur Yolcu, and in 2009 took his first lead film role as Berk in Ayakta Kal. He became widely recognized for playing Şahin in the series Karagül, followed by Engin in Son Çıkış and Teoman in Adını Sen Koy in 2019, the same year he appeared in an Iranian competition program and the ninth season of "Iranian Dinner." He has also worked as a theatre teacher at schools and institutions in Tekirdağ and Istanbul, preparing students for conservatory admission. In 2015 he published a novel, Yalnız Aşka Sığınmak. Alongside acting, he has long worked in electronic and acoustic music, releasing compositions in the 2020s as singles including Büyütme and Sarı Gelin.
