Erkut Şentürk — Biography
Mehmet Erkut Şentürk (born 6 May 1994 in Bakırköy, Istanbul) is a Turkish footballer who plays as a left winger. He began playing football at Beşiktaş in 2006 and obtained his amateur licence in 2007, appearing for the club's youngest age groups alongside fellow prospect Muhammed Demirci. In March 2009 coach Mustafa Denizli brought him into the first-team squad; playing on the left flank and reportedly once linked with a move to Aston Villa, Şentürk was dubbed the "Beckham of the Eagle" by the sports press for his resemblance to David Beckham, and he took part in Beşiktaş's championship celebrations. He signed a two-year professional contract with the club on 13 March 2010 but never got a chance to play for the Beşiktaş first team.
After his Beşiktaş contract expired he moved to Eskişehirspor, where he was first included in the squad for a Süper Lig match against Fenerbahçe on 17 November 2012 and made his official professional debut on 28 January 2013 against Orduspor, coming on for Necati Ateş. He finished runner-up in the Turkish Cup with Eskişehirspor in 2013–14. At international level he first wore Turkey's under-15 shirt against Bulgaria on 8 April 2009, going on to play for the under-16, under-17 and under-18 sides, and won the Nike Tournament with the under-17 team in 2010.
He later played for Antalyaspor (a move reported in early 2016), Amed and Altındağspor; after joining Altındağspor in January 2021 he was brought in by Ünye 1957 Spor in January 2026 as an experienced addition to the squad.
