Fikri Elma — Biography
Fikri Elma (1 January 1934, Ankara – 15 November 1999, Ankara) was a Turkish footballer who played as a forward. He began his career at Ankara club Pınarspor in 1949 before moving to Ankara Demirspor, where he played in the Turkish First League from 1959 to 1969, scoring 144 goals in 319 matches including the Turkish Cup.
Elma finished the 1961–62 season as top scorer with 21 goals in 34 matches, a season in which Demirspor finished 19th and avoided relegation only because the league expanded its number of clubs. Over ten seasons he scored 128 league goals, becoming one of the earliest players to pass the 100-goal mark and ranking among the most prolific scorers in Turkish league history. Elma also played for Turkey's youth national team, and after retiring worked as a club executive at Gençlerbirliği.
He died in Ankara on 15 November 1999 and was buried in Karşıyaka cemetery.
