Galip Güzel — Biography

Galip Güzel was born on 10 January 1987 in Merzifon, a district of Amasya. A midfielder, he started out in the Merzifonspor youth system and then played in Galatasaray's academy. In 2006 he signed a professional contract with Fatih Karagümrük, and his first official match came on 20 August 2006 against Yalovaspor in the 2. Lig. He later turned out for Türk Telekom and 1461 Trabzon, and from the 2009-10 season he played for Bandırmaspor in the 2. Lig, where his form drew interest from Bursaspor.

He moved to Bugsaşspor in 2011-12 and scored 11 goals in 55 games for them. Joining Osmanlıspor for 2013-14, he made 30 league appearances in a single season and scored nine times. He also played for Alanyaspor around the time the club won promotion to the Süper Lig in 2016, while the payment crisis and player boycott at Osmanlıspor in spring 2019 were widely reported. In August 2019 he signed for Menemenspor, where his wages and contribution were discussed in the press. Talks with Altınordu in January 2020 led nowhere.

Accounts of his current status differ: one lists him in the Kuşadasıspor squad, while another says he has ended his playing career.
