Gaye Turgut — Biography

Gaye Turgut Evin is an actress who began as a child performer and has built a career across theatre, television and film. She is best known as Bahar in the long-running series Beni Affet and went on to play Lieutenant Çiğdem Ülgen in Savaşçı. She has also produced a television series.

She first appeared on screen as a child in Sevgi Ana. She then appeared in Akasya Durağı, Türk Malı, Kanıt, Yahşi Cazibe, 71. Koğuş and 72. Koğuş. Yamak Ahmet and Beni Affet established her name, and her move to Savaşçı in 2017 opened a new chapter; she has said herself that the series changed her life. On stage her repertoire runs from Arthur Miller's Tituba to Shakespeare's Lady Macbeth and Ophelia and Olga in Chekhov's Three Sisters, and she worked as both actress and assistant director at the Altunizade Municipal and Sadri Alışık theatres.

She studied acting at Beykent University's Faculty of Fine Arts, also graduating from the cinema and television department through a double major. A school-theatre production won her an achievement award from the Ministry of National Education. She teaches theatre at Ümraniye T-Type Prison and played the fairy of kindness in Duvarların Dili, a play performed by inmates. She has been married since 2013 to actor Deniz Evin, her co-star in Beni Affet, and became a mother in 2021.
