Grégoire Colin — Biography
Grégoire Colin was born in 1975 in Châtenay-Malabry, France, and began acting on stage at just twelve years old. He drew critical attention at seventeen for his role in Agnieszka Holland's Olivier, Olivier, and later won the Best Actor award at the Locarno International Film Festival for Nénette et Boni. Over a career spanning more than three decades and forty-plus productions, he has repeatedly worked with director Claire Denis, appearing in Beau Travail, The Intruder, 35 Shots of Rum, Bastards and Both Sides of the Blade. He is also remembered for playing a ruthless club owner in the 1998 film The Dreamlife of Angels.
In 2009 his first short film as director, La Baie du renard, screened at the Cannes Film Festival, and the same year he founded his own production company, Tsilaosa Films. He has remained prolific into the 2020s, appearing in The Vourdalak, Paris Memories, Spirit of Ecstasy, Arenas and Silent Rebellion, as well as in the Charles de Gaulle drama De Gaulle: Tilting Iron.
