Gülşah Çomoğlu — Biography

Gülşah Çomoğlu was a Turkish actress whose career ran from the theatre stage through daily series to mainstream television. She drew notice as Asuman in Fox TV's daily series Unutma Beni, became widely known as Begüm in Yüksek Sosyete, and last played Bahar in Kasaba Doktoru. She died in Istanbul on 29 May 2024, aged 38.

Trained in theatre at the Bilkent University Conservatory, Çomoğlu began on stage, appearing in plays such as İki Efendinin Uşağı, Troyalı Kadınlar, Kafatası, Yeşil Kuş, Hürrem Sultan, Camdan Kalp and Venedik Taciri. She entered television in 2010 with Behzat Ç.; her real breakthrough was Unutma Beni, where she stayed for a long time. Aşkın Bedeli followed, Yüksek Sosyete brought her to a wider audience, and Kasaba Doktoru in 2022 was her last work.

She married actor Gökhan Günal in 2018 and was a cousin of actress İlayda Alişan. Her husband announced her death, and the press reported that she had been undergoing cancer treatment.
