Hakan Söyler — Biography
Hakan Söyler (born 8 April 1983 in Ankara; some sources give 6 April) is a Turkish former footballer.
He began his career in the Petrol Ofisi youth system, where he was spotted for Turkey's youth national teams and became a regular across several age groups. Süper Lig clubs took notice and he moved into Gençlerbirliği's youth setup, making his first Süper Lig appearance for the club on 17 December 2000 against Antalyaspor; unable to secure a lasting first-team place, he signed professionally with Gençlerbirliği's affiliate Hacettepe in 2001-02 and played regularly in the 3. Lig for two seasons. He transferred to Aydınspor in 2003-04 and, a season and a half later, to Süper Lig side Malatyaspor, where he was an important player for five seasons. He also had a brief spell at Çaykur Rizespor in 2006. In the 2008-09 winter transfer window he joined Kardemir Karabükspor, helping the club finish the 2009-10 1. Lig season in first place and win promotion to the Süper Lig; he remained a fixture in the squad through 2010-11 before parting ways with the club in 2013.
He was called up 57 times to Turkey's youth national teams, making 50 appearances and scoring one goal across them. After retiring as a player he stayed involved in football, and in 2023 he was among those entrusted with technical duties at Karabük İdmanyurdu.
