Hasan Sönmez is a retired Turkish goalkeeper, born 27 September 1976 in the İznik district of Bursa. He began his professional career in the 1994-95 season with his hometown club İznikspor, then playing in the Turkish Third League; after the team was relegated he moved in 1995 to Süper Lig side Gençlerbirliği, where he spent six seasons and won the Turkish Cup in 2001. During this period he was also capped for Turkey's under-18 national team. He joined Trabzonspor in 2003 and won a second Turkish Cup with the club in the 2003-04 season, while also going out on loan to Akçaabat Sebatspor.
Ahead of the 2007-08 season he transferred to Kayserispor, where he competed with Dimitar İvankov for the goalkeeping spot, and ended the season with a third Turkish Cup medal after Kayserispor beat his former club Gençlerbirliği in the final. He then moved to Samsunspor, where he found regular first-team football, before signing for Antalyaspor in 2009, for whom he never made an official appearance.
