İbrahim Toraman — Biography
İbrahim Toraman (born 20 November 1981 in Sivas) is a Turkish former international footballer who played as a defender, mainly at centre-back but also at right-back and occasionally in defensive midfield.
He began playing football with his hometown amateur club Sivas DSİ Spor, spending six years at amateur level and being named the second-best player among Turkey's amateur sides. He then turned professional with Gaziantepspor, where he spent about seven years and attracted the attention of the country's biggest clubs. In the summer of 2004 he signed for Beşiktaş for a reported fee of around $2.5 million, and it was in Istanbul that he spent the bulk of his career, winning one Süper Lig title (2008-09), four Turkish Cups and a Turkish Super Cup, and eventually captaining the side. Left out of the squad in 2013, he was loaned to Sivasspor for the 2014-15 season and announced his retirement from football in June 2015.
Internationally, Toraman represented Turkey at under-21 and senior level 46 times in total and was part of the squad that finished third at the 2003 FIFA Confederations Cup; he was not called up again after 2008.
