Işıl Alben — Biography

Işıl Alben is a retired Turkish basketball player born on 22 February 1986 in Istanbul, standing 1.70 m tall. Playing as a point guard, she spent most of her career at Galatasaray and captained the first Turkish women's team to win the EuroLeague title in 2014.

Capped more than 100 times for the national team, Alben won silver at EuroBasket Women 2011 and bronze in 2013, and competed at the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympics. She announced her retirement from professional basketball on 3 June 2023, and later that year was appointed to a new role at Galatasaray and honored with a Woman Athlete of the Year award.
