Kaan Girgin — Biography

Kaan Girgin is an actor best known as one of the handsome young leading men of 1990s Turkish film and television, moving between theatre, cinema, television series and presenting. He is remembered above all for the award he won for Bir Sonbahar Hikayesi, for playing the lawyer Alper in Dikkat Bebek Var, and for the character Can Bey in Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu.

He left an architecture degree unfinished, graduated from the Theatre Department of the Ankara State Conservatory and then joined the Istanbul City Theatres. On Show TV he presented Coke'n Roll and, with Meltem Cumbul, Rifle King Kong Show, and he became known as Bay Pardon in a bank's advertising. His film breakthrough came with Atıf Yılmaz's Gece, Melek ve Bizim Çocuklar (1994) and Yavuz Özkan's Bir Sonbahar Hikayesi (1994). On television he appeared opposite Türkan Şoray in Gözlerinde Son Gece and as Oktay in Böyle mi Olacaktı, and he also took roles in Ayrı Dünyalar, Yasemin and Gelin.

In the 2000s he kept working on Dikkat Bebek Var, Dabbe and Hakkını Helal Et, and on Miras (2008) he was both an actor and a producer. In 2014-2015 he appeared in the eighth and ninth seasons of Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu, followed by the film Her Şey Mümkün (2017). In 2010 he co-hosted the Malatya International Film Festival. He has been married more than once and has children.
