Kaan Tangöze — Biography

Rıza Kaan Tangöze (born 5 September 1973 in Istanbul) is a Turkish musician, the left-handed lead vocalist and guitarist of the alternative rock band Duman. After Şişli Terakki High School he graduated from Bilkent University's Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, then earned a master's degree in economics at Seattle University in the United States.

In high school he formed the grunge/cover band Mad Madame with Ari Barokas, and while studying in the US he kept making music with Yakup Trana; a song he wrote in Seattle, Lalala, appeared on two American compilation albums. He founded Duman in 1999 with Batuhan Mutlugil and Ari Barokas, and in 2006 released a solo collaboration single, Karanlıkta, with Mutlugil and Trana. Among Duman's six studio albums is Gölge Etme, whose track Taksim Meydanı he wrote after the 2013 Gezi Park protests; he released the album Aşık Mahzuni Şerif Türküleri in 2022 and the singles Kufi, Kamikaze and Ah Bir Ataş Ver between 2024 and 2026.

He married model Seçkin Piriler in 2010, with whom he has two sons, Hakan and Volkan, before divorcing in 2016; he married Kıvılcım Ural in 2018. In February 2026 he was detained alongside Murat Dalkılıç and İsmail Hacıoğlu as part of a drug investigation into public figures and released two days later; the episode stands on the record as a completed detention, not a proven charge.
