Kerem Tunçeri — Biography

Mehmet Kerem Tunçeri was born on April 14, 1979, in Istanbul. Coming through Galatasaray's youth ranks and playing as a point guard and shooting guard, he became a key member of the Turkish men's national team over the course of his career. His greatest achievement with the national side came at the 2010 FIBA World Championship, where a buzzer-beating basket with three seconds left sent Turkey through to the final and the team went on to win silver; he later called it the most memorable moment of his career. He also won silver with the national team at EuroBasket 2001.

After his playing career, Tunçeri moved into club administration, being appointed General Director of Galatasaray's men's basketball team in 2021, a post he left in January 2023. Together with his brother Kemal Tunçeri, he continues to run Tunçerispor, an academy dedicated to scouting and developing young basketball talent.
