Müjdat Gürsu — Biography

Müjdat Gürsu was born on 13 September 1971 in the Silivri district of Istanbul and went on to play for Samsunspor, earning a call-up to the Turkish national team during his career. His playing days were cut tragically short when he died in a traffic accident near Muğla on 21 June 1994.

A sports facility in Silivri was later named in his honor and has been renovated and reopened more than once in the years since, while Samsunspor and Samsun's football community continue to mark the anniversary of his death, remembering him as one of Turkish football's early losses.
