Murat Karakoç — Biography
Murat Karakoç (born 7 September 1979 in İzmir) is a Turkish retired footballer who played as a winger and later became a football manager.
He began playing in the Bucaspor youth system, turned professional in 1998, and despite his young age quickly found regular playing time in the first team, making his official debut against Eskişehirspor on 16 August 1998. When Bucaspor failed to progress through the qualifying groups he moved to Aydınspor, then to Altay, with whom he finished the 2001-02 1. Lig season as champions and won promotion to the Süper Lig. After the club was relegated the following season he moved to Manisaspor, returned briefly to Altay, and then joined fellow İzmir club Karşıyaka. A season later he transferred to Denizlispor, a side that had been a stable Süper Lig presence for two decades, where he played for three and a half seasons. In the winter window of the 2009-10 season he returned to Bucaspor, helping the club finish second in the 1. Lig and win promotion to the Süper Lig, before playing one more spell at Altay. He closed out his playing career at 2. Lig side Turgutluspor.
After retiring as a player he moved into coaching, and in September 2025 he was appointed head coach of Torbalıspor.
