Mustafa Asan — Biography

Mustafa Aşan is a Turkish footballer, born on 11 September 1988 in Diyarbakır, who plays as a midfielder. He began his career in the youth ranks of his hometown club Gençlerbirliğispor before moving to Beşiktaş's academy. Although he signed a professional contract in 2006, he remained with the reserves, and was loaned out first to Eskişehirspor and then to İnegölspor for experience, making his official debut for İnegölspor against Gaziosmanpaşa on 19 August 2007.

He was transferred to Manisaspor in 2008 but was again sent out on loan to İnegölspor, before joining Akhisar Belediyespor, where he became one of the squad's key players and helped the club finish runner-up in the second tier and win promotion in the 2009-10 season. He signed permanently with Akhisar in 2010-11, spending six seasons there; after the club's promotion to the Süper Lig in 2012, he scored the goal in a match against Beşiktaş that stood as Akhisarspor's first goal against one of Turkey's traditional big clubs. An injury in 2013-14 led to his sale to Şanlıurfaspor, followed by a loan to Karşıyaka. He also earned four caps for Turkey's under-19 national team.

Aşan transferred back to Karşıyaka permanently in 2016 and went on to captain the club for many years, rejoining it again in July 2020 before departing in May 2023. He subsequently played for Yozgat Belediyespor and Diyarbakırspor, leaving the latter in March 2026.
