Nil Karaibrahimgil — Biography

Ferhan Nil Karaibrahimgil (born 17 October 1976 in Ankara) is a Turkish singer and songwriter. Because of her long surname she usually goes by the short stage name "Nil".

Her love of music came from her father, Suavi Karaibrahimgil, who is also a musician. In 2000 she enrolled in the international relations department of Boğaziçi University. She first became widely known in Turkey through commercials for the leading mobile operator Turkcell, playing a traveler who occasionally needs a phone card; she later appeared alongside Tarkan in some of the ads.

Noted for her distinctive lyrics, she also took up acting, playing Mimi in the 2008 film A.R.O.G and appearing in films such as Hadi İnşallah (2014) and Hesapta Aşk (2016).
