Ozan Özkan

Ozan Özkan — Biography

Ozan Özkan (born 11 June 1984 in Muğla) is a Turkish former footballer who played as a defender. He began playing football in 1999 in the youth system of Muğlaspor, the club of his home city; he transferred to Yalıkavak Belediyespor in 2002–03, returned to Muğlaspor the following season, and signed a professional contract there. He made his official debut on 26 September 2004 in a Second League match against Küçükköyspor.

He signed for Konyaspor at the start of 2005–06 but saw little playing time, and was loaned to Karşıyaka for 2007–08. When the loan ended he did not want to return to Konyaspor and instead transferred to Karşıyaka for a 75,000 TL fee. Unable to win over the coaching staff in his second season there, he was sent to Denizlispor midway through the campaign; getting little playing time there either, he moved to Mersin İdman Yurdu at the start of 2009–10. He left at the end of that season, spent 2010–11 without playing, then signed for Bandırmaspor, making 15 appearances before transferring to Samsunspor at the start of 2012–13.

He finished his playing career with Muğlaspor, his home province's club. After retiring, he was appointed sporting director of Muğlaspor in June 2023; when he parted ways with the club in December 2024 he made sharp criticisms of it.
