Özlem Günhan — Biography

Özlem Günhan is a Turkish director born in İstanbul in 1982. She completed her undergraduate degree in the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at Ankara University's Faculty of Communication and holds a master's degree from Istanbul University's Cinema-TV department. She entered the industry as a student, working as a camera operator for TRT Ankara's current-affairs camera unit; after continuing there until 2007, she went on to work at TRT and private channels on documentaries, series and programmes as a cinematographer, assistant director and director. She has also taken part in independent documentary projects and served as a programme consultant for the Documentarist International Documentary Film Festival.

As a director she has credits on series including Cennetin Sırları, Kınacılar Konağı, Kervan, Kavşak, and O Kız, which aired on Kanal D in 2022; alongside directing, she has also worked as cinematographer and camera operator on productions such as Bizim Evin Halleri and Aynalar.
