Öztürk İlmaz — Biography
Öztürk İlmaz (born 23 July 1976 in Kars) is a Turkish singer who completed his primary and secondary education in Istanbul. He began his music career in high school with the band Sigara (1995), and went on to work with the groups Abflex and Kronik. In 1997 he released his debut solo album, Güneş Sensiz Doğacak, produced by Ali Oytam for Erol Köse Prodüksiyon, and shot a video for its track "Kaç Gel".
While touring that album he began writing songs with Deniz Yılmaz; their collaborations included "Dağlar Dayanmaz", which appeared on Demir Demirkan's album, and "Dön Bana", on Asrın Tuncer's. His second album, Vasiyet, produced by Deniz Yılmaz, came out in 2002, with videos shot for "Yalnızım", "Vasiyet" and "Düşman"; around this time he also performed in bar venues with a cover band called Hücum Kedi. His third album, Öztürk, an eleven-track record produced by a&f, was begun in 2005 and released in 2007, featuring guest artists Özlem Tekin, Mustafa Kemal Öztürk and Gökalp Ergen and a video for the track "Aldırma". A fourth album, Benim Gibi, followed in 2011.
In 2016 he formed the band İnsan in Kadıköy, taking the vocalist role himself; the group's debut single, "Sevgililer Günü", written and composed by İlmaz, was released on 14 February 2018 with two accompanying videos. He is also said to have been named among notable collaborations in Turkey's rock and metal scene in 2022.
