Rober Eryol — Biography
Rober Eryol was a Turkish national footballer of Jewish descent, born on 21 December 1930 in Mersin. He began his career at Galatasaray in 1947, playing as a left winger and left back, and won Istanbul Professional League titles with the club in the 1954-55, 1955-56 and 1957-58 seasons.
Capped nine times for Turkey's senior national team between 1953 and 1954, Eryol featured in all three of Turkey's matches at the 1954 World Cup in Switzerland, in addition to two appearances for the B national team. After retiring as a player, he went on to work as a coach. Eryol died in Istanbul on 21 December 2000, exactly on his 70th birthday.
