Scottie Wilbekin — Biography
Scottie Wilbekin is an American-born, naturalized Turkish basketball player born on 5 April 1993 in Gainesville, Florida. Playing college basketball for the University of Florida, he was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Year in 2014, and after going undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft he began his professional career with the Cairns Taipans in Australia.
Following a brief spell with AEK Athens, Wilbekin joined Darüşşafaka in Turkey in 2015 and in 2018 led the club to the EuroCup title, earning both the Regular Season and Finals MVP awards. He then moved to Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel the same year, winning three league championships and being named Finals MVP in 2021; he has also represented Turkey's national team internationally.
Wilbekin transferred to Fenerbahçe in 2022, where he won two Basketbol Süper Ligi titles, three Turkish Cups and a Presidential Cup, and was part of the club's EuroLeague-winning squad in 2025. He and Fenerbahçe Beko mutually parted ways in March 2026, and on 3 July 2026 he signed with Beşiktaş.
