Sebahat Kumaş — Biography

Sebahat Kumaş is an actress who has been a familiar face in Turkish television drama for years, best remembered for playing Melek in Karagül and for her place in the long-running Arka Sokaklar cast. Her training in photography makes her route into acting a little unusual.

As a child she moved with her family to İzmir and later to Istanbul. Interested in photography since middle school, she graduated from the photography department of Anadolu University's Open Education Faculty and also studied acting at Ekol Drama. Her first acting job was a nurse in Arka Sıradakiler; she then appeared in Adanalı and joined Arka Sokaklar in 2006. Muhteşem Yüzyıl (2011) brought her a wider audience, and in 2013 Karagül became her most talked-about work.

Later she played Diyar Sarıkaya in Fox's Kalbimdeki Deniz (2016) and Rüya in Aşk Mantık İntikam (2021), and took a part in Zümrüdüanka. She continues to take on new projects.
