Şehrazat — Biography

Şehrazat, born Şehrazat Kemali Söylemezoğlu on 3 September 1952 in Ankara, is a Turkish singer, composer, and lyricist known for her work in jazz and pop music, as well as her career as a businesswoman and philanthropist. Her mother was the well-known Turkish jazz singer Sevinç Tevs. Educated at the International School of Choueifat in Lebanon and a resident of Beirut for nine years, she is fluent in Turkish, English, and French and can also understand Arabic.

Beginning her music career in the late 1960s, Şehrazat — often known simply as "Şehro" — built a multifaceted career spanning songwriting, composing, and record production. She has also made television appearances over the years and is recognized for her philanthropic activities.
