Selin Dişli — Biography
Selin Dişli was born on 15 April 1998 in Viersen, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, to a Turkish immigrant family, and holds both German and Turkish citizenship. A defender, she has an older sister, Aylin, who is also a footballer and has played for the Turkey national team.
She started playing in her school's under-13 side in Schwalmtal and then joined the youth team of Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Between 2013 and 2015 she played two seasons in the B-Juniorinnen Bundesliga, making 22 appearances and scoring seven goals. In 2015-16 she moved to Fortuna Köln in the Regionalliga West but, after a single match, went to 1. FC Köln II, where she played four games and scored once. She returned to Fortuna Köln for 2017-18.
She first wore Turkey's colours at under-17 level, debuting at a tournament in Belgrade on 22 June 2013 and playing eight times. For the under-19 side she played 21 games and scored eight goals, and was part of the squad that won the 2016 UEFA Under-19 Development Tournament. She was then promoted to the senior national team; she was an unused substitute in the European Championship qualifier against Germany on 8 April 2016 and again in a friendly against Jordan in November 2017.
