Serap Paköz — Biography

Serap Paköz was born on 15 June 1965 in Ankara, where she also went to school; while studying at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences in Çukurova she passed a TRT entrance exam and began her career as an announcer, working first at TRT's Trabzon and Van radio stations and later at Ankara Radio and Ankara television.

Her move into private broadcasting began at Kanal D in 1997 and continued at Kanal 6, ATV and TGRT, a period in which she wrote and hosted morning programmes aimed at women, including Kadının Sesi. Across the 2000s and 2010s she fronted similar shows on channels from Show TV and Star TV to ATV and FOX, and her longest-running programme, Gerçeğin Peşinde, ran first on TV8 and then on Star TV before ending in 2023. She married folk musician Sümer Ezgü in 1987, divorced him in 2000, and has two children, Ceren and Ozan, from that marriage. In April 2026 she announced a breast cancer diagnosis and has continued sharing updates on her treatment with followers on social media.
