Serkan Çiftçi — Biography
Serkan Çiftçi was born on 3 August 1989 in Vienna, the capital of Austria, into a family of Turkish origin. He took up football in the country of his birth and built his career mainly in the lower divisions of Austrian football, which is why sources vary in describing him as either Austrian or Austrian-Turkish.
A forward standing 1.80 m tall, he played for ATSV Hollabrunn, a club based in the Lower Austrian town of Hollabrunn. He is one of a number of footballers of Turkish descent across Europe who grew up in, and built playing careers within, the domestic leagues of their country of birth rather than Turkey.
