Serkan Yanık — Biography

Serkan Yanık was born on 2 April 1987 in Troyes, France, where he also began playing football. He signed with Stade de Reims at 18 before moving to Kocaelispor in 2007, making 32 appearances there. In the 2009-10 season he joined İzmir club Bucaspor, helping it finish runner-up in the TFF First League and win promotion to the Süper Lig, and stayed for a further season after the club was relegated back down.

At the end of the 2011-12 season he transferred to Mersin İdman Yurdu, making 31 Süper Lig appearances with one assist. On 29 May 2013 he moved to Gençlerbirliği, but returned to his former club Mersin İdman Yurdu mid-season. He transferred to Gaziantep Büyükşehir Belediyespor in June 2015 and back to Gençlerbirliği in May 2018. Holding both French and Turkish citizenship, the right back ended his playing career at TFF First League side Giresunspor.
