Sertan Eser — Biography
Sertan Eser (born 18 April 1974 in Nuremberg, Germany) is a Turkish former footballer and coach. He played as a left forward and striker, and won nine caps for the Turkey under-21 team, scoring two goals.
Born and raised in Nuremberg until 1984, Eser began his career in 1991 with third-tier club Antalya Köy Hizmetleri Spor before signing a professional contract with his hometown club, Konyaspor. His performances in his first season there caught the attention of Beşiktaş coach Christoph Daum, who compared him to German international Pierre Littbarski and pushed to sign him; Eser duly moved to Beşiktaş for an unusually high transfer fee at the time, part of which went unpaid and resurfaced in the press years later as a long-standing debt between the two clubs. After three seasons at Beşiktaş, he went out on loan to Adanaspor, Yimpaş Yozgatspor and İstanbulspor in turn before mutually terminating his contract with Beşiktaş in 2001 and signing for Malatyaspor. He subsequently played for Ankaraspor, Bursaspor, Diyarbakırspor, Gençlerbirliği and İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediyespor, as well as a second spell at Malatyaspor and a stint at Kasımpaşa, before joining Sakaryaspor at the start of the 2009-10 season and retiring midway through the following season.
Years after retiring as a player, he moved into coaching, taking charge of amateur-league side Kozyatağı in 2017.
